Full immersion in Pinot Noir… Here are my top wines
If you’re feeling jaded because it’s Friday, spare a thought for the 600 wine lovers who spent three days immersed in Pinot Noir this week.
The full immersion in Pinot Noir was at the capital’s biggest wine event ever – Pinot Noir NZ 2017. It was an outstanding event in terms of connection with people, place and Pinot. And it all ended up in the early hours of this morning at Havana Bar, which ran out of tonic, due to high demand for G&Ts… They say it takes a lot of beer to make great wine but it also takes a little gin and tonic too. And, sometimes even a little Vermouth, which is what the talented team at Mount Edward Wines in Central Otago are doing with some of their white grapes too.
