Two tasty whites came my way this week for a private tasting I am hosting in a couple of days; both wines are so good, they deserve a public airing too. Here goes…

Cheeky little southern French Chardonnay for $15.99

2015 Chateau Saint-Roch Limoux Chardonnay AOP 14% ABV $15.99 (red $30.99)

This southern French Chardonnay rocks a dry, full bodied, fleshy style with loads going on in both flavour and texture – firm acidity adds balance to the richly flavoursome lemon and peach flavours. It has a savoury finish and is great value for money.

Peachy southern white for $15.99

2015 Domaine de Sainte Cecile Viognier Pays d’Oc 13.5% ABV $15.99 (was $29.99)

Here’s a tasty dry white from the rolling hills of the south of France where sunshine is plentiful, the Mediterranean is nearby and the wines are big in body and taste. This one is all about ripe oranges, peach skins and nectarines, and it’s incredibly true to type since Viognier is known for its pronounced citrus and stonefruit characters. This wine delivers all that and more with its freshness and long finish. Very good value for money.
