Friday 13 July to Sunday 15 July 2018, Kauri Cliffs, Hawke’s Bay

Taste 20 years of Escarpment Pinot Noir with winemaker Larry McKenna
The Lodge at Kauri Cliffs in Hawke’s Bay is the place, 13 to 15 July is the time and McKenna is the host.
The weekend begins with welcome wines, a relaxed dinner and a wine options game for fun, which will be hosted by McKenna on Friday, before Saturday’s structured tasting highlights of Escarpment wines over the past two decades.
The Saturday night tasting menu will be prepared by lodge head chef Barry Frith who will match the food to the Escarpment wines.
Larry will share his insights into the past two decades of vintages, styles and his experience as co-founder, director and winemaker of Escarpment Wines on Martinborough’s Te Muna.

Saturday 20 January 2018…  Bridge Pa Wine Festival, Hawke’s Bay

2018 Bridge Pa Wine Festival begins at 10am and finishes at 6pm, taking place at eight wineries – Abbey Estate, Alpha Domus, Ash Ridge, Ngatarawa, Oak Estate, Paritua, Redmetal Vineyards and Sileni Estates, each with wine tastings, food and local entertainment.

Tickets  from Eventfinda from $38 per person and include access to all wineries, a festival glass and use of the hop on/ hop off buses throughout the day. Tickets are also available from Napier, Taradale, Havelock North and Hastings with transport beginning at 9.30am from each of the areas.

 

Sunday 28 January 2018… Pegasus Bay Vine Run, North Canterbury

Dress up, bring a picnic and a sense of adventure for the inaugural vine run at Pegasus Bay Winery on Stockgrove Road, North Canterbury.

The run begins on the winery’s front lawn at 10am and includes a 6km or a 10km walk/run course, followed by an invitation to picnic on the winery’s lawn and purchase wine to enjoy. All participants over 18 years of age will receive a bottle of Pegasus Bay to take home.

The run doubles as a fund raiser for the New Zealand Brain Research Institute.
