2024 Craggy Range Aroha RRP $200
Craggy Range’s impressive new Prestige Collection is officially released on 1 September this year and includes four exceptional wines with collectability and cellaring in mind. These wines have commanding flavours (and price tags – but they are intended to be seen as keepers for the wine cellar). This wine paints a powerful picture of possibilities from Martinborough’s Te Muna Valley, which is home to a significant portion of Craggy Range’s overall grapes, of which Pinot Noir is the jewel in the crow. Aroha (te reo for ‘love’) delivers aromas of dark cherry, black plum and lifted floral notes in layers with impeccable structure, underpinned by the region’s hallmark of firm silky tannins and power. Aroha is one of New Zealand’s most prestigious Pinot Noirs with stature, longevity and showing a very positive evolution of elegance in style. It drinks well now but really will come into its own after eight to nine years+ in bottle.
