Craggy Range makes top 50 list - again

One of New Zealand's highest profile wineries has made ranked in the world's top 50 Most Admired Wine Brands for the fifth year running.

The independent top 50 list is compiled by Drinks International magazine, whose editor commissions a global group of sommeliers, wine buyers, wholesalers, Masters of Wine and writers to pin point their best wine brands.

Competition gets tougher each year, says Drinks International editor Shay Waterworth.

"What's particularly important to me is that we rotate a percentile of those doing the rankings each year to guarantee a true and fair representation of the global trade. Earning a place on this prestigious list is therefore a serious achievement and I personally congratulate those in our top 50 this year."

Craggy Range global brand ambassador and family member, David Peabody, says the winery's focus today is on organics and caring for the land, both of which are paramount to the family.

"Since its inception in 1998, Craggy Range has remained committed to producing wines that authentically reflect the unique terroirs of Hawke's Bay and Martinborough. Our continuous inclusion on this list further affirms the evolution our teams have implemented in the cellar and vineyards."

  • Craggy Range Vineyards was listed number 36 of 50 in this year's list while this year's top honour went to Spanish wine producer Familia Torres.
