Second release cements Red Hut
Red Hut Chardonnay has moved onto its second release with the launch of the 2024 vintage... .
The Red Hut wine brand was launched last year in New Zealand by the duo behind the concept - Mike Farrugia (New Zealand wine importer, distributor and producer) and Corey Ryan, winemaker of this and other brands (Australian-based).
From the get-go, the Red Hut wines have over delivered on taste, marketing and - obviously - good value, offering more than many of their counterparts. The new 2024 Red Hut Chardonnay proves the point again, highlighting New Zealand's greatest wine strength - its cool to moderate climate, which accentuates the freshness and bright acidity that brings live to white wines.
Here's my review of the newest from Red Hut.
2024 Red Hut Chardonnay RRP $24.99
Creamy aromas immediately give this wine its appealing Chardonnayesque characters. The wine's smooth mid palate and mellow core of ripe citrus aromas show flavours of lemon, ruby grapefruit and almond, followed by a savoury, nutty taste and full body. Its rounded texture brings depth and weight to every sip.
This is great value for money for Chardonnay lovers.
